Guidelines on How to Stay in Character

*Selphie and Irvine*

Type of relationship possibilities:

Format = Selphie &Irvine

Good (Selphie is the same) & Good (Irvine is the same)

Good (Selphie is the same) & Evil (A past issue brings itself up.)

Evil (wait.. what am I saying? Selphie Can't BE evil!! Selphie makes a bad decision in the heat of the moment and has to live with the consequences & Good. (Irvine is supportive)

Evil (Selphie could finally not be able to take the wearing a mask approach. She could really be depressed out of her mind and covering it up)& Good (Irvine is supportive.)

The two most in character are the first two. I honestly can't see Selphie doing anything morally wrong but, there was that time when she shouted that they would blow them to smithereens, in the Timber mission.

Character morals:

Selphie loves living and could easily be described as bubbly. She loves to organize and get everyone involved, even those who are too shy to. She enjoys seeing people happy, that could be why she almost painted herself as a clown. It could be (although Square never let on to any of this) that being happy is a mask for her to get attention because she has always had to fight for any attention, due to the fact that she was raised in an orphanage. It could also be that the mask covers up her sever case of depression. She could also just sincerely want people to be happy; after 'Sis' left along with all there parents being dead life was sad and depressing. The way to cheer people up is with her insane antics (don't agree? Two words: the Train song) Irvine too wears a mask that is cool and confident, the perfect SeeD attitude. His mask also says that he could care less who he slept with; he appears happy go lucky and hyper.

He also puts on the mask of a ladies man, who could easily do anything to impress the women. His cowboy attire is another clue that he is trying to make himself appear like that. Cowboys are traditionally brave and old fashion in the sense that it's women and children first. They took cheap jobs to heard cattle across the USA and often picked up a cool attitude. His real self is sensitive and caring, he can't stand to kill people and it hurts him to see one of his friends hurt. He would do ANYTHING to save Selphie. He only flirts with the girls to keep on his mask. He doesn't one anyone to catch on to him in fear that they could be used as a weakness. Definitely the forgiving type.

Why it works:

Besides the fact that Square supports them and shows definite signs of a relationship during the game, the two work because they truly understand each other. They have a lot of similarities, they both wear a mask and truly have a serious and sensitive inside, they just my not show it. Irvine may flirt with girls and Selphie may appear to be Ok with it, but in reality Selphie hates it and Irvine loathes it even more. Why do it then? It's human nature and you can't easily control that side of you. Selphie may hardly notice that she acts like she's on pounds of crack yet, she does. <~~~ Sorry to you Selphie fans, I like her too! They are also supported by Square, that is a dead give-away that the relationship will be successful. I agree, even though Square isn't right on everything. (Cough cough Squall and Rinoa!!!) Both of them act completely opposite in private than public. They can easily share their love in public.

Major Guideline:

No matter how depressed Selphie is she will never show it in public, depending on how you depict their relationship maybe not even to Irvine, without help. Irvine will never stop flirting with the girls without help. Both rely on each other to become a better person. Without each other they will never over come their obstacles. Selphie would only commit suicide if no one was in the room. They could always love each other, even at the orphanage b/c Irvine remembers the orphanage, more in particularly, He remembers his Sefy.
